Years ago–really–I started this skirt. I bought the linen, cut out the pieces, dyed the trim with cochineal, in 2014. I thought about embroidering it. Then I sewed it up. Thinking about embroidering it took about two years.

I spent December sewing things mostly for other people, as usual, but I finally got to finish this sweatshirt from the Nov 22 issue of Burda. I used an embroidery pattern from one of my large stack of embroidery books instead of the one in the magazine, and used different shades of a similar yellow so it wouldn't change the overall colour of the shirt. Some standard cotton floss, and some rayon, which is a pain to stitch with but did make a nice texture contrast.
